Abstract
These tutorials are designed as an introductory course to help users be familiar with QGIS basic mapping and geoprocessing capabilities. The course aims to provide users practical guidance for the mapping of spatially referenced indicators – with a particular focus on data related to crime, socioeconomic deprivation and urban poverty in lower income or resource settings in Africa. The techniques in this course will range from simple to complex geoprocessing, and spatial analysis of aggregated and interpolated data. The tutorials and associated data are open source, and therefore, free to use.
