Abstract
Liquid crystal filled Fabry‐Perot filters (LC‐FPF) can be used as tunable optical filters. The filters can be made insensitive to the incident polarization by using additional birefringent layers inside the cavity. An analysis of the polarization properties of these resonant structures is presented for two device configurations.
