Abstract
Architecture and its complex relations is in the focus of space syntax as developed by Bill Hillier and Julienne Hanson in the 1970s. In this chapter, Kerstin Sailer provides an insight into the methodology and theory of space syntax, showing that the original theory today is complemented by socio-cultural research, opening up to a diverse understanding of users as spatial agents.
