Abstract
Global financial crisis has brought challenges and opportunities to China's cultural industries. What are the roles of cultural industries in terms of meeting the challenges of structural adjustment? What are the general and specific impacts on China's cultural industries as a result of global financial crisis? What are the prospects for industrial upgrading through cultural industries? What are the mega trends for the Chinese cultural industries? This paper adopts the official industrial classification of Chinese Ministry of Culture and assesses empirically the structure of capital, the distribution of location and financial performance in China's cultural industries in answering the above questions.
