Abstract
In this expository article we relate the presentation of weighted estimates in the book of Martinez to the Bergman kernel approach of Sj\"ostrand. It is meant as an introduction to the Helffer--Sj\"ostrand theory (designed for the study of quantum resonances) in the simplest setting and to its adaptations to compact manifolds.
