Abstract
The introduction situates this book in the context of recent calls for radical social changes to address the global climate crisis, and development of new forms of education that can help to facilitate such changes. The question these calls raise—how can education be harnessed effectively for a broad-based, social justice inspired project of radical social transformation—is a vital question for education studies, but one that has been neglected outside the field of radical education. The introduction sets up the central aim of the book of bringing together climate change education and radical education to understand how education can be used to support radical social change.
