Abstract
This review of recent work by Shaun Murray explores Murray's influences in theory and drawing practice, methods of drawing construction and site investigation. It then develops comparisons between Murray's work and earlier, 20th century landscape imaging practices, such as Alfred Wainwright's illustrations for his pictorial guides to the Lakeland Fells and Charles Rennie Mackintosh's watercolours of geological formations in Southern France.
