Abstract
The Supply Chain and Control Systems sector is increasingly adopting digital and connected technologies. Supply chains utilise both external and internal real-time data to boost visibility enabling faster and better decision making. Use of IoT-technology within Industrial Control Systems (ICS) enables more efficiency, system scalability, performance accuracy and capital savings. Whilst adoption of these technologies brings numerous benefits to both supply chains and control systems, they also introduce new risks and challenges, such as cybersecurity concerns. Based on research undertaken over the last few years, this brief offers insights into general trends and challenges in cybersecurity research and policy for IoT devices within the Supply Chain and Control Systems sector.
