Abstract

Bent Barfod (1920-2007) was a leading figure in Danish animation. His studio, Bent Barfod Film, trained at least two generations of animators and Barfod himself sustained a long career as a filmmaker. This article examines selected films by Bent Barfod in the light of the resurgence of critical-theoretical interest in animation and in the materiality of film more generally since the Digital Turn.
