Abstract
TRA VISIONS is a series of EU funded projects that aim to showcase European excellence and to increase the compeve advantage of the European Transport Industry. The innovave concepts and soluons are nurtured through a European Wide compeon for young as well as senior researchers in the sectors of Road, Rail, Waterborne, Airborne and Cross modal transport. The main objecve isto promote out of the box concepts and ideas forthe future of European transport and develop these ideas within an environment where purpose driven innovaon is culvated in a risk-free environment. The paper offers an overview on the results of the young researcher compeons, an integral part of the TRA VISIONS acvies in the past years, and demonstrates how the new generaon of Transport Engineers, with the support of the European Commission, have inspired the industry in adopng visionary concepts for soluons to future transport problems
