Abstract
Studies suggest that sad music may alleviate the impact of seasonal stressors and psychopathologies. It can offer solace, mitigate loneliness and promote good mental health by providing an outlet for processing negative emotions. This piece suggests a playlist of 18 sad Christmas songs focused on two key contributing factors to low mood during the winter holidays -- loneliness and being without a family.
